Walter "Dub" Moore, long time, former Shawnee resident, went to be with his Lord on May 30 th , 2015, passing away peacefully at Cimarron Pointe nursing home in Mannford, OK at the age of 90. Dub was born January 25 th , 1925 in Konawa, OK to Walter and Angie (Rushing) Moore. A Graveside service was held, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park at 1:00pm. Services were under the direction of Mannford Funeral Home with Kenneth Gibson officiating.
Dub married Elsie Mae Gibson in Shawnee, OK June 23rd, 1946. They had four children, Gary, Kathy, Kenny, and Terry. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, assigned to the Pacific Region and subsequently served in the United States Air Force Reserve assigned to Newfoundland. Following his military service, Dub continued as a government civilian, retiring out of Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK. Following his government retirement, he worked with Worthington Pump, Hall and Story and later Barton Valve in Shawnee, OK.
Dub was a member of Westport Baptist Church in Cleveland, OK and long-term member and Deacon at Trinity Baptist church in Shawnee. Dub lived in Shawnee until moving to Lake Keystone in Cleveland, OK in 1987 with his wife Elsie. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Elsie; his mother and father, Walter and Angie Moore; sisters Lillian Smith, Linnie Rushing, Judy Roberts, and Pat McKey; their husbands Wayne Smith, Martin Rushing, Roy Roberts, and Bob McKey; and nephew Darrell Smith.
Dub is survived by his four children and eleven grandchildren; Gary (Cheri) Moore of Broken Arrow, OK, their children Dax (Brea) Moore and Holly (Shawn) Phillips; Kathy (Dwayne) Cathey of Sand Springs, OK, their children Brett (Lynzi) Cathey and Brian Cathey; Kenny (Greta) Moore, their children Zachary (Abbey) Moore, Tanner (Karen) Moore, and Sam (Elisa) Moore; Terry (Evelyn) Moore, their children Shane (Diona) Moore, Justina Goodpasture, Jeanna Goodpasture, and Jeffrey Goodpasture. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 20 nieces and nephews, 3 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, numerous great nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family.
