Bonnie's daughter...


Bonnie was the daughter of
Cassius Edward Maitlen
and Grace (Gee) Maitlen.
She was
born on August 25, 1931,
in Cushing, Oklahoma.
She passed away on Monday,
November 18, 2024
at Legacy Village of Stillwater
at the age of 93.

Bonnie graduated from
Norfolk High School.
She then attended
Oklahoma State
University
and taught at Norfolk
until her marriage on
December 15, 1951 to
Johnny
Doyle Pope.
They established their first home
in Wagoner, Oklahoma where Johnny

was the Assistant County 4-H Agent
and Bonnie was Treasurer
for the Lake Region

Electric CO-OP.
The couple moved to Bartlesville
two years later when
Johnny was
transferred.
Johnny then became
manager of Philson Farms
and the couple made their

home on the ranch.
Bonnie was employed as Secretary
for Farmland Industries, Inc. for

twenty-four years before
retiring in 1993.
Johnny died in 1999.
She remarried in 2001

and moved to the Cushing area.
In 2021 she moved to the memory care unit
of Legacy Village in Stillwater.

Bonnie's activities included:
member of East Cross United
Methodist Church in

Bartlesville and Rachel Circle,
Volunteer at Concern Tuesday House
in Bartlesville,

Past President of
Washington County 4-H Leaders,
Oklahoma Junior Hereford

Association Advisor, Desk and Derrick,
DAR, and Mayflower Society.
She worked on the
Bartlesville
United Way Fund Drive
for twenty-four years.

Bonnie loved spending
time with her family.
She was a wonderful cook
and known for

her homemade rolls.
