The following was lovingly written by Steve's family...

Stephen “Steve” Eugene Butts, age 73,

 passed away on September 10 th , 2026 in the

comfort of his home in Mannford, USA. 

Born on November 24 th 1952 in Tulsa Oklahoma, 

Steve was the son of Donald and Colleen Butts.

 At a young age he began working as a boiler maker 

with the Boiler Makers Union Local 592. 

Here he spent decades of welding, grinding, and rigging. 

Union and blue collar to the core.

Steve lived a full life. 

At 12 years old, his lifelong love for horses began when he bought

his very first horse and proudly tied it up to a half-grown elm tree in the front yard. 

This passion later led him to participate in 

reenactments of Custer’s Last Stand in Crow Agency, Montana. 

As a teenager, he was always figuring out how things worked,

whether he was tearing down and rebuilding a bicycle or 

helping build motors on a crop-duster plane with his Uncle Don.

As a father to his children, whom he shared with Rozetta Harness, Steve was always up

for a good adventure. He filled their lives with excitement, from Sunday stock car races

where he worked the pit crew, to tearing up the terrain in dune buggies in Pryor,

Oklahoma. He was a dedicated dad who coached softball games, built a custom

camper out of an old school bus, and loved spending time on the water catching catfish.

He passed his deep love for the lake down to his children by taking Michelle and her

family out on the water for endless days of water-skiing.

Steve’s passion for the open road was something he shared with his family from the

very beginning. An avid rider, he introduced his children to the thrill of motorcycles when

they were just 6 months old. Years later, as he stepped into his favorite role as

grandfather, that tradition lived on. He took his grandchildren on motorcycle rides,

creating unforgettable memories and passing

 his fearless spirit down to a new generation.

On December 13 th , 1990, Steve married the love of his life, Jacque Jones-Butts. Jacque

was his ultimate partner in adventure, standing by his side through every chapter of life.

Together, they explored the world, traveling across the United States and even taking an

unforgettable journey to Venezuela. Her unwavering love and companionship brought

immense joy and comfort to Steve’s life.

Steve lived a life as big and rugged as his personality. He will be deeply missed by his

family and the many friends who shared a seat on his wild ride through life.
