The Assembly Of God Church in Mannford, Oklahoma.

The following was lovingly written by Bob's Family...
Robert Herbert McBroom, most commonly known as Bob, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. surrounded by his family. He was 92 years old and a long time resident of Mannford, Okla.
Bob was born in Shawnee, Okla. on September 15, 1928 to Joseph and Lillie McBroom. He was the youngest of 11. Bob completed eight years of schooling, he obtained his GED in 1971.
He entered the United States Marine Corp. in 1945 and served in the latter part of WWII and was stationed in China. Bob was discharged on September 11, 1951 but he then signed up for the Marine Reserves and was recalled to serve in the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on July 18, 1953. He achieved the rank of Sergeant.
He married Opal Cargill on June 21, 1953 in the Freedom Hill Baptist Church immediately following the Sunday church service.
Bob was a hard working man and worked many jobs to provide for his family. He drove a school bus for Mannford Public Schools, he taught heavy equipment operators at Central Tech in Drumright, Okla., he worked as the Chief Mechanic on the train at the Tulsa Zoo. Bob built all the sidewalks in Mannford, rebuilt the Assembly of God Church after the 1984 tornado. He was one of the local men who constructed the 4-diamond ball fields in Mannford. He owned and operated McBroom Construction until retirement.
Bob served on the Mannford School Board for 8 years and was a member of the Mannford Booster Club.
Bob enjoyed playing the harmonica and dominoes in his younger years and coon hunting with his favorite Walker coon hounds. He coached little league baseball to many Mannford youth. He was proud of his children and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye but when the great grandchildren came along that just put the icing on the cake!!
Bob  is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
Bob is survived by his wife Opal of the home, children Matthew McBroom, Mark (Sheila) McBroom, Timothy McBroom and Lourie (John) Hunter, 10 grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer, Sean, Michael, Melissa, Macie, Jordan, Nash, Wes and Aaron, 8 great grandchildren, Jayce, Lantz, Joseph, Audrey, Ashley, James, Madelyn and Leah along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. And let's not forget his 4 legged companions, his dog Jack and his cat Midnight.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Assembly of God Church, 104 Greenwood Ave, Mannford, Okla. Pastor Matthew Stidham will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mannford Funeral Home, Mannford, Okla.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation maybe made to Folds Of Honor Department #13 Tulsa, Oklahoma 74182, in Bob's name.
