~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Renate Grewe of Mannford, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home in Mannford on April 2nd, 2022. Her daughters, Angelika and Liz, and several grandchildren were by her side. Renate was born in Stargard, Germany on April 27, 1926 to Max and Emma Arnold. In 1947 she married Johannes Grewe, and together they moved to Nebraska where they lived until they moved to Mannford in 1970. Together they raised 4 children.
Renate loved being outdoors, and her green thumb was unsurpassed. She was always happy when she was quietly working in her flower garden. She was also creative and artistic and enjoyed painting, photography, and knitting. Our Mom and Oma baked wonderful homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and tortes. She loved the many dogs that were part of her family over the years (and she loved all our dogs as well). She was a voracious reader. Even in her 90s, she didn't let technology get the best of her, as she loved reading on her Kindle and following the lives of her family through email and social media.
Renate is survived by her daughters Angelika Mitchell and husband Lloyd; Dorothy Reinholz; Liz Pantelogianis and husband Mike; thirteen grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Renate was preceded in death by her parents Max and Emma Arnold, her husband Johannes, son Manfred Grewe, brothers Manfred and Helmut Arnold, her sister Dorothea Persson, son-in-law Kurt Potter, and sister-in-law Ruth Stenzel.Friday
