and his cremains were buried in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Orman Lee McDowell Jr. (Sonny) was born on 09-19-1940 in Stroud, Oklahoma.
He along with his sister Juanita Gipson were raised by their father (Orman McDowell) and mother (Emily McDowell) in Avery, Oklahoma.
Sonny graduated from Agra High School in 1958. After high school, Sonny volunteered for the Armed Forces (Army) and spent 10 years in the service including time served in the Vietnam War. After getting out, Sonny went on and had three boys and two girls.
