The following is lovingly written by
Beckey, Wayne's daughter...
Wayne Troxell was many things to many people.
The young man that became a young adult and father at 16.
Always providing milk routes, paper routes
then eventually leading to a very long route to Alaska.
The oil rigs in the middle of the ocean.
Little kids, Kenneth, Beckey and Shelly
anxiously await their daddy's arrival
landing at the airport.
It always felt like Christmas.
Daddy coming home.
He made green grass in Alaska.
where there was none.
He always made life in an adventure.
As he drove back to Oklahoma,
he showed us so many landmarks,
that will forever be
etched in our memories.
He loved fishing, camping, hunting,
and motorcycles.
He wasn't always so much about
speaking love,
but he'd show it.
A fond memory of mine is the 3 P's.
He'd spent a lot of time teaching that to Kenneth.
Piss poor planning.
He had a special
connection with Kenneth,
that was his son.
He was so proud.
He told him to go out and learn to weld
and after he did to come back and
then he'd teach him and he did.
He was an amazing welder.
But he never bragged.
His relationship with Beckey and Shelly,
was different.
When a boyfriend came to the house,
he'd be cleaning the guns on the kitchen table.
And if we got our heart broke,
he would forbid us to
ever see that person
again even if it was a little spat,
and then we cried harder.
When life was falling apart,
it always seem that he was there,
that was my daddy.
All the love he had for his grandchildren,
they'll never lose all those memories he gave them.
Everything he loved in his life he shared
and taught them to the the same things.
All of the grand kids have
been on the receiving end
of his sense of humor
and everyone of them
have inherited his sense of humor.
He had the best time teasing
the great grandchildren,
he would go into his imaginary world,
and he was a better cheerleader,
his animals could do better than theirs.
They could sing, they rode school buses and
the more they argued the
bigger his grin was.
He also had his soft side,
that he tried to hide.
But the animals began to tell on him the
first one I remember was a guinea pig.
He was talking to him and
feeding him every morning
before the work day,
his name was Squeaky.
He knew he got caught because
every time Squeaky
saw him he would squeak
really really loud.
He had a huge grin on his face
and walked out of the room.
Eventually, he quit hunting and
started feeding the animals.
He acquired a few cats.
Last count 40.
Dad, Betty, and the cats.
Dad and Betty had such a
gentle, caring, compassionate love,
I believe they're dancing in heaven.
We are all left with
beautiful memories of
laughter and adventure, and love.
I miss you, daddy.
I love you, daddy.
