Jerry Lee Hayden
November 28, 1942 – January 10, 2025
Jerry Lee Hayden, 82, of Mannford, Oklahoma,
passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by
his loving family on January 10, 2025.
A proud athlete and graduate of Maud High School,
Jerry was affectionately known as the "Maud Flash"
for his speed and athleticism.
His talent on the football field earned him a
scholarship to the University of Oklahoma,
where he played under legendary
coach Bud Wilkinson from 1960 to 1964.
Jerry's time as a Sooner was one
of the proudest chapters of his life,
marked by teamwork, dedication,
and lifelong friendships.
Jerry had a successful career in insurance sales,
where his outgoing personality and
warm nature helped him build lasting relationships.
His gift in connecting with people
made him a cherished friend,
teammate, advisor, and neighbor to many.
He retired after decades of hard work with
a reputation built on commitment,
community, and kindness.
Jerry raised his family in Mannford, Oklahoma,
where he taught his children, grandchildren,
and great-grandchildren to
embrace the joys of country life on the family farm.
Together, they created countless memories
filled with love, laughter, and a
deep appreciation for simple pleasures.
Jerry is survived by his three children:
Monica (Russell) Frick,
Emy (Chad) Gehring,
and Russell (CB) Hayden,
Sharon's five adult daughters from her first marriage:
Gina Collins, Teri & Carl Guthrie,
Nikki Garrison, Shelli &
Jon Overacker, and Cynthia Gifford;
grandchildren: Lilly (Brittani) Allen,
Elly Rader, Vince (Erika) Martin,
John John (Jaleigh) Frick,
Zak Frick, Chase (Carle) Gehring,
Hali (Marcus) Hochstetler,
Carson Gehring, Mikayla Hayden,
Josh Hayden, Olivia Hayden, Hanna Hayden
and 9 Great Grandchildren who will carry forward
his legacy with the same strength
and love he instilled in them.
He was preceded in death by
his beloved wife, Sharon,
son; Ross Hayden,
parents Everett and Bessie Hayden
and siblings, Mildred,Vernon, and Kathy,
all of whom he now reunites with in peace.
Jerry's life was a testament to enduring love,
remarkable athletic achievements,
a million dollar smile,
and an unwavering ability to
touch lives wherever he went.
He will be profoundly missed by
all who knew and loved him.

from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm
