~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following was lovingly written by Jerad's Mother-in-law...
Jerad and Jenny were students at Oklahoma State University when they met.
They had a lot in common—grandparents in Southwestern Oklahoma, a love of OSU football,
and stints as managers at Shortcakes Diner in Stillwater.
Jerad married Jennifer Evans on July 17, 2004, in Drumright, Oklahoma.
Jerad was a good cook. While they were still in school, in their first apartment, there was a kitchen fire. That's when I knew my daughter was in good hands. He is the only college student I've ever known who had renter's insurance.
Jerad was born July 15, 1980 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Max Lindsey and Leah DeBoard. He grew up in Grandfield, Oklahoma, surrounded by his father's family. His grandfather, Jerold Lindsey, a tail gunner in World War II, was a big influence on him.
As a fifteen-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department, Jerad found his purpose. In the line of duty, he won several awards for selfless acts, including going into a burning apartment building to carry someone out. He saved that person's life. He never wore those awards or talked about them; he was just doing the job he was hired to do.
Jerad was a good husband and a good father. He loved his family, his alma mater, and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement. As Chairman of the Board of Directors and First Vice President of the Oklahoma Fraternal Order of Police, he leaves behind a body of work that will live on.
Jerad is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two sons, Jerry Lynn and Joe Don; his father and mother; a large extended family; and many friends. He will be missed.
