The following was lovingly written
by Janice's daughter, Christina...
Janice Sue Linden
was born in Tulsa, OK on September 23rd 1950.
She was raised with her sister Joanne Snelling
by their parents Gale and Opal Phelan,
in the town of Redfork, OK.
Her mother worked out of their
home as a hair stylist and
her father worked as a production manager,
for Worsham Enterprises.
Her sister Joanne worked as a NICU nurse.
Janice went to business college, after graduating
from Webster High School.
She had many jobs over the years including
an editor at the Mannford Eagle,
a medical transcriber for a
doctor's office in Mannford,
a chocolatier, a substitute teacher, a librarian,
a fabric salesperson,
and office assistant at Citgo Petroleum.
Janice was married to her husband Steve Linden,
for 52 years, in November of 1973.
Janice had two children
Brian Gale (deceased at 15 hours) and Christina.
Janice worked to help cover
the costs of having a child
but her main passion was crafting and sewing.
She and her daughter, Christina Linden,
would set up a booth at the Mannford Craft Fair
each year selling a variety of homemade treasures.
Janice eventually became a professional quilter
and even won second place at the Tulsa State Fair.
Her favorite pastimes were quilting,
buying fabric and talking with friends about quilting.
She also enjoyed reading and
attending First Baptist Church.
Janice was a Camp Fire leader for
her daughter and friends
where she was able to share her love of crafting
and provide a larger perspective of the world.
Her daughter Christina and
her partner Spence Kiddle
brought her up to Portland, OR
for her final years where
she fought a battle against Parkinsons
and Parkinson's Dementia.
Janice is survived by
her daughter Christina Linden,
husband Steve Linden,
sister Joanne Snelling
and numerous nieces, nephews and
grand nieces and nephews.
