The following was
lovingly written by Hugh's Family...
Hugh Denman Lear
His journey began March 2, 1924 in Mound Valley, KS. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a purple heart for being
wounded in action, an oak leaf cluster for being wounded a second time, and a bronze star for bravery. He began working with his brother James as co-owner of Lear Allstate Vending and Music Company. On December 29, 1962, He married Betty Thrasher and started a family in Tulsa, Ok. He was blessed in this life to be able to call three ladies his daughter Shirley, Valerie, and Jennifer. He then owned and operated seven Economy Beauty Supply stores. He became a realtor in 1977 for Ken Popejoy realtors, and McGraw Davidson Stewart. He concluded his years of working by traveling the U.S. for Zebco. After he retired, he traveled for pleasure, and fished every chance he got. He started dating Mary Diaz in 2005 and later that year they were married on November 26.
Through it all, God was his passion. He served faithfully as a deacon in the Southern Baptist church for a majority of his life and wrote many commentaries sharing with others his passion for God's word. Hugh went home to be with Jesus on February 13, 2017. Proceeded in death by: parents; James & Dottie. First wife; Betty. Daughter; Valerie Gallatin. Siblings; Ann Olsen, Pearl Smith, Edna Gregory, & James Lear. Survived by: wife; Mary Lear of Owasso, OK. Children; Shirley Caudle of Sand Springs, OK, Jennifer & Larrie Adams of Bartlesville, OK.
