~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following was lovingly written by Glenn's family...
Glenn's parents had eleven children.
Charles Raymond, Marjorie Ellen,
and Geraldine Marguerite
were the first three and
they died under the age of 4.
Then eight more strong survivors
came along including
Dotti, Shirley, Betty, Charlene Dee,
Bud, Richard, and Glenn.
And with all those siblings came over
30 nieces and nephews.
As a boy he was able to
put anything together,
build anything, and make things work.
He was good with his hands.
He was the youngest boy,
and he loved to entertain.
He loved to sing and
harmonize with his sisters.
He bought a ukulele one year
and learned how to play it,
and went on later to play guitar
for an area band.
He was all boy,
and got himself into trouble
with his curiosities, of course.
And he loved fishing, camping,
and story telling.
You could always look to him
for a good story or joke.
He would look you in the eye,
smile, and begin to talk,
and people would lean in
and listen and laugh for hours.
As a man, Glenn made a living
as a carpenter and entrepreneur.
He had many businesses with his family
including selling parakeets,
furniture, cars, a restaurant,
and apartments.
All the while, he also worked for
Mannford Public Schools
as the Maintenance Superintendent
and as a bus driver.
He had a drive to stay busy
and was never lazy.
He especially enjoyed horses with Scott,
doing projects with Nick,
and fishing with nephew, Charlie Hicks.
He liked to give advice, solicited or not.
It was usually wisdom based
on experiences or the Word.
His favorite book of the Bible to study
and teach was Romans chapter 8.
He knew he was a sinner, saved by Grace.
Towards the end of his life,
he spent his hours in Bible study,
hanging out with his breakfast buddies,
and playing pool.
He loved watching football,
and was an avid OU Sooners fan.
Glenn's children included
Bob, Scott, and Cheri,
mother, Claudelle Hesslen (now
Peck),
Nick and Mindy,
mother, Judy Pleasant (now Barnes),
and bonus children, Jodi and Jeff,
mother, Kathleen "Katie" Ryan.
Grandchildren:  Bobby, Adam, Parker,
Logan, Caleb, Madison, Aiden,
Zachary, Harmony, William, Lilly, Robby,
Warren, and Leeland.
And great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life date TBD.
Please feel free to wear
your favorite OU shirt,
and/or bring a written memory.
Thanks to all who have
been a part of his life.
He was a man,
and all that being a member of the
human race entails.
The fact that he was fearfully
and wonderfully made,
and that he failed in some things
just as he succeeded in many others.
He never gave up on God.
And we will have the opportunity to
see him again according to the scriptures.
Amen.
