The following was lovingly written by Emma's family...
Emma Rabe, 92, of Sand Springs, OK passed away peacefully in her home on August 14, 2022. She was born on April 24, 1930 in Levy Arkansas to Thomas Raymond and Mabel Frances Wells. Emma was the youngest of 5 girls, Rosa Davis, Beaver; Ada Barkley, San Angelo, TX; Betty Lane, Metraie, LA; and Francis LaCost, Lamar, CO.
She married JC Rabe on September 18, 1954 where they lived on their farm outside of Forgan, Oklahoma raising cattle and growing wheat. They had 6 children, Tommy, Linda, Gary, Alan, Robert and James Rabe. She had 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren along with 3 great great grandchildren all whom she loved dearly.
Emma worked as a retail clerk and advocate for the Beaver County Outreach center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forgan, where she taught Sunday school and kept the nursery for many years. Emma retired and moved from Forgan, Oklahoma to Woodward, Oklahoma after the loss of her husband in 1994. Emma moved her church membership to the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Woodward when she relocated.
In 2013 Emma and her son James moved to Sand Springs, OK where they were residing at the time of her death. Emma was currently a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Mannford, OK.
Emma dedicated her life to caring for people. She provided care for her oldest sister Rosa and her husband JC after they suffered illness from heart disease. She spent 20 + years providing tireless care and compassion for her son Alan who suffered from MS. She was always there to help family and friends whenever they needed it.
Emma was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served actively for more than 50 years. She was currently a 65-year member of Queen Esther Chapter in Woodward, OK. She served the order as Worthy Matron and District Deputy many times and several other offices.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mabel Wells, her sisters Rosa Davis, Betty Lane, Ada Barkley and Francis LaCost, her husband JC Rabe and her sons Tommy and Alan Rabe.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Lunsford of Mannford, OK; son Gary Rabe of Blanchard, OK; son Robert Rabe of Tuttle, OK; son James Rabe of Sand Springs, OK; her grand and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
She was well known by her sweet spirit and beautiful smile and loved by many and will be dearly missed by all her friends and family.
