The following was lovingly written by
Danny's family...
Danny Ralph Lunsford
was born December 14, 1954
in Hatch, New Mexico
to Clifford and Thelma Lunsford.
He passed peacefully in his sleep
on December 1, 2025
in his home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma
surrounded by his family at the age of 70.
Danny lived his childhood days in Hatch.
Danny's father passed away
when he was 12 years old.
He spent time helping his mom
with paper routes,
working at filling stations to
help his mom anyway he could.
He graduated from Hatch High School
in 1973.
Danny moved to Oklahoma in 1989;
He and his wife,
Belinda were married February 26, 1994
in Harrison, Arkansas.
He worked on fabricating containers
and building, repairing oil field equipment.
Danny could build anything.
He loved the challenge of
building a fitting and retro fitting anything.
Old cars oil rigs to household improvements.
He worked long, hard hours to make sure
his family had everything they needed.
Danny was a supervisor at Taylor Industries
when he retired on December 14, 2017.
He had a passion for bass fishing,
guns and shooting sports.
Even though he worked long hours,
he found the time to teach
his children the good stuff,
how to shoot rifles, how to fish, how to camp,
and all the little life lessons in between.
He did it all with a sense of humor that
made even the tough moments easier.
He believed in leaving the woods and lakes
a better place than he found them,
and we should all do our part to preserve
the outdoors for future generations to enjoy.
His favorite holiday was July 4,
he enjoyed being with family,
friends and playing horseshoes,
and smoking meat.
Throughout the years,
he enjoyed watching
his children playing sports
or fishing with his children or
doing a bass tournament with his wife.
One of his qualities was if he messed up,
he wasn't afraid to admit it,
He'd apologize with so much thought and
sincerity that alone taught his children
more than even realized.
Danny had a big heart.
He was always helping his coworkers,
our friends, anyone who needed something.
For his kids, even as adults.
If they had a project or a problem,
he made it a priority to help them figure it out.
What made Danny the happiest was
just being with his people,
his wife, kids, grand kids and his friends.
Even if it was just sitting on the
back porch together,
he was content.
The simple things in life.
Danny truly loved his family
and took pride in his
career, family, his work and his hobbies.
He took the time for his family and
showed all of us what love truly means.
Danny is survived by his wife, Belinda,
Son, Cody Lunsford and
wife, Tammy of
Fort Scott, Kansas,
Daughter, Rebecca Rakes and
husband, Nathan of
Tulsa, Oklahoma,
Son, Walt Burlison and wife Becky of
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,
Daughter, Laci Dickson and
husband, Aaron of
Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
He leaves a sister, Janice Torres of
Hatch, New Mexico.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
Clifford and Thelma Lunsford
and a brother, Gene Lunsford.
Danny's legacy is one of love,
kindness and generosity.
His grandkids were the light of his life;
his eyes lit up every time he saw them.
He was truly proud of his
children as the adults that they have become;
he was so proud of them.
He was loved deeply and
will be missed dearly.
