The following was lovingly written by Carolyn's family.. .
Carolyn Sue Gregor, 81, went into the waiting arms of Jesus on Thursday, June 10, at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 19, 1939, to Carl and Mittie Cartwright, Carolyn grew up a pastor's daughter, moving a lot throughout her young life. She graduated from Central High School, in Tulsa Oklahoma class of 1957. She married Dale Allen Gregor, the love of her life, later that year, on August 30, 1957. She studied at Oklahoma City University and later at Tulsa Junior College earning a certificate in Accounting. Over her 63 years of marriage to Dale, they lived in Tulsa, then settled in Mannford, Oklahoma to raise their children, Janice, Dale and Blaine.
Carolyn was active in her community. She served as a girl scout leader, taught piano lessons, kept score at baseball games, and was also a church pianist at Mannford First United Methodist. She and Dale sang together in choir there also. Carolyn spent most of her working career as the bookkeeper at Mannford Public Schools until she retired in 1997, and she and Dale moved to Westcliffe, Colorado.
In Colorado they served together in prison ministry, where she often played the hammer and mountain dulcimers for worship services. They were also active at the First Baptist Church of Westcliffe. She belonged to a quilting club, and won many awards for her gifts in quilting, as well as competitions with the dulcimers.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dale; her children – Janice and Mike Wiseman, Dale Jr. and Debbie Gregor, and Blaine and Shanna Gregor; her grandchildren – Mandy and Jesse Parker, Kayla Thetford, Brady and Micaela Gregor, Keith Gregor, Bryce Gregor and Jay and Jasmine Wiseman; and eight great-grandchildren.
