Albert L Collier (known as Corky) was born October 31, 1931, the son of William Elmer Collier (Britches) and Vera Lou Collier. He is the older brother of Ferman Foy Collier (Buck). Corky is preceded in death by his father and mother, two siblings, an older brother William died at birth and Buck's twin brother Herman Roy who died at the age of 3. In addition, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lavern Collier.
He is survived by his Brother Buck Collier, his son, Brice Collier and Jami of Bixby and his daughter Debie Pratt and Monty of Mannford. In addition, he is survived by Grandchildren Andrea and Adam Kirk of Austin Texas; Eric and Janell Pratt of Mannford Oklahoma, Jared and Leslie Collier of Houston Texas, Dr. Matthew Collier and Emily of Durant Oklahoma, Aaron Dawn Collier of Claremore Oklahoma, Sarah Collier of Bixby Oklahoma, and Anna Verbytska of Pheonix Arizona. He has nine great grandchildren.
Albert Collier graduated from Henryetta Highschool and went to East Central University earning a bachelor's in education. Over the course of his career, he earned a master's in education and a master's in administration. Albert began his teaching career in McDonald Kansas then to Hardtner Kansas for 4 years then to Garden City Kansas for 2 years where he coached and taught math. He moved his family back to Oklahoma working at Garrett Book company in Coalgate Oklahoma then took on the Role of Superintendent of Schools for Schulter Oklahoma (4 years) then to Oilton Oklahoma (4 years).
Albert spent several years in the maintenance department for Southwest Tube. After Debie and Brice completed college, he returned to education teaching at Agra Oklahoma where he taught students how to use personal computers.
Albert and Laverne were married February 15, 1952, and they had 3 children:

Albert's wife Laverne passed away in 1992.
Albert served on the volunteer fire department for many years and would man the weather tower during sever weather well before channel 8 had live radar. Albert enjoyed working puzzles, playing cards, and drinking coffee at the Oilton Senior Citizens. He also served on the regional board for Senior citizens. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oilton. Most importantly he was a very good Husband, Dad and PaPa and he will be truly missed.
